The Doo

What a blessing, what absolute sunshine on a cloudy day, what joy divine...is our Doo. She provides comic relief always.  She laughs from within her very gut.  She causes a smile by walking into a room.  She sings on pitch and she sings all of the time.  She is a sponge for information...including information not pertaining to her.  She loves the mimic game.  She is beyond her years in her ability to empathize.  She is 3 1/2 and most days acts like it.  She can memorize a song quickly...and there is nothing like hearing her sing, "God's not dead, he's surry alive and living on the inside rooooaaaring like a lion." She is kind.  She loves greeting her daddy at the door to take the mail and his lunch pail.  She thinks its hilarious to place something underneath your rear before you sit down on it.  She counts to 4 instead of to 3.  She would choose not to share most of the time unless it is beneficial to her.  She loves watching the "big gurs" at gymnastics and has a crush on coach Derek.  She loves to dance...she never stops no matter whose watching or where she is.  Her voice sounds infinitely sweeter, if possible, on the phone.  I love how she says "bitsy bitsy" spider.  She loves to point out every single jeep she sees to remind us that she, Baday and Popo would look good in one of those.  She is a little fish in the pool...even if her teeth chatter the entire time because she's cold.  She deals with a great deal emotionally attending therapies, doctors visits, less quality time, hospital stays with her sister...and most days she's only slightly jealous.  Her prayers for her sister cause the ugly cry in me. Her love for all things having to do with Popo and Baday is one of the most incredible bonds.  She "prefers" a dress over shorts (her words not mine).  She appreciates when you address her as princess.  She wears scarves, aprons or any sort of fabric attached to her pom pom's in her hair to make her look like Rapunzel. Given the choice of m&m's or grapes...she'll always choose grapes.  Ice cream is the big ticket bribery item for her.  Many mornings when her daddy leaves and everyone else is still sleeping she'll peek open the blinds and wave to her daddy...instantly making his day.  The sight of a train can put her in a tailspin she gets so excited.  From any direction we are driving...she knows where we are. She talks incessantly and on most days more than our ears would prefer to listen. The Doo lives to argue...she is an amazing little debater.  She can sense when she's gotten your goat and pushes even harder.  The little prayer that comes from her mouth every time she sees and "ambalance" heading to the "hos-a-pit-al" is precious.  She retrieves the Bugs sippy cup every morning and brings her a blanket on the couch...sometimes she even wipes the milk off of her sisters face.  She likes to tell others that she is the big sister (pronounced baby stister).  The Doo is beyond my wildest dreams and then some more.  I get to be her momma and I'm so very blessed...because she brings to our world a sense of normalcy and chaos that we couldn't imagine living without.  We are forever grateful to our giving God for the gift of our beautiful, messy, hilarious and precious Doo.  So many things that we'll never be able to express to her...she makes our world the brightest place.  Hard days are made easier with the laughter and love she provides. We love you so very much, Doo!
