Nine years ago today a 5 lb. 14 oz. baby girl was brought
into this world and we were chosen to be the privileged ones to be her momma
and daddy. Her dark chocolate skin and deep brown eyes instantly triggered a
love so divine I can’t express it in words. She is mine. I am still to this day
flabbergasted that God allowed me to have her. Our Doo is our middle girl—but
more like the big sister to both Bug and Bee. She amazes me endlessly with her
whit, her compassion, her eagerness to help people and reach goals that others
would find daunting. She is my favorite person to shop with and hang out—it
doesn’t matter if it’s nail polish, candles, purses, home décor—she loves to
shop. My heart soars knowing how she loves Jesus and I treasure teaching her
ways to tangibly love others and seeing the ways that she shares that love with
others on her own. She’s funny. Funny in the sarcastic and hilarious timing
kind of funny. She has a laugh that would truly melt the hardest heart—but
you’ve got to get her real laugh. The high pitched little girl giggle. I truly
can’t believe 9 years have passed since our girl came into this world. I can
still feel her head on my chest and her little dimpled hands on my chin. She is
my dark beauty. I love her so. Happy
birthday, my precious girl. You will forever hold my heart in your hands.
Love,
Momma
